Steamboat Local Picks!

STEAMBOAT EAT & DRINK

AURUM:  We love this place year round. In the summer, go sit on the back deck next to the river. In the winter, it’s a cozy place to be! Happy Hour is amazing, probably our favorite happy hour in town. Our favorite apps are the cauliflower and duck wings! There is live music most nights.

LAUNDRY:  It’s a restaurant with an unusual name. Cocktails and absolutely delicious small plates! It’s so apparent that the chef here loves food. Our absolute favorites are the brisket and the brussels sprouts hash. This food was made for sharing and this is our favorite restaurant hands-down. Happy Hour here is also pretty great.

CREEKSIDE CAFÉ:  This is our can’t miss go-to breakfast spot. You won’t be disappointed, except if the wait is too long. This place is no secret -- so go early! If you can’t get in, try Freshies.

BUTCHER KNIFE BREWERY:  This place is a great local brewery just west of town. Our favorite beer here is the Hefeweizen, a lighter Bavarian-style beer, or the Amputator, an American IPA!

EXPLORE IN THE WINTER

SKIING (of course!) : With nearly endless skiing options in Summit County, you can ski Breck, Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin), Keystone or Copper Mountain. I personally love the blue groomers on Peak 9 in Breck.

DOGSLEDDING :Check out Good Times Adventures! This is a fantastic family option for the non-skiers in your family. Goodtimesadventures.com for more information.

SNOW SHOEING OR NORDIC SKIING: There’s nothing better than a cross - country ski lesson at the Gold Run Nordic Center to get you enjoying the sun and snow. Rental equipment is available. Both the Breckenridge and Gold Run Nordic Centers offer snowshoe terrain and rentals as well.

TUBING : This is a great one for families. Maybe you’re all skied out and still want to get outside to spend time with your kids! Look up the Frisco Adventure Park at townoffrisco.com
